From researching into existing film magazines, I decided that I wanted to draw inspiration from 'Little White Lies'. Their covers are usually drawn digitally, which gives a unique effect that I wanted to mirror in my own work. To begin I started with a normal portrait photo and then made this into a sketch on photoshop. This is a new skill I have learned as during AS Media Studies I did not have the opportunity to use this medium.
Seen above is the initial outcome of making the original image to a sketch, it was less detailed than I wanted and I thought it looked too simplistic, this is something I wanted to keep in mind when creating my own magazine cover.
After that I added in colour into the image and the logo for my magazine. This was an opportunity to play with colour and make it look as eye-catching as possible, again this is something I want to repeat in my final cover. From this I have also learnt that I need to use a high quality image as the sketch tool on photoshop made the image lose detail.
Here is the original cover from 'Little White Lies' that I took inspiration from.
